Stoke Newington Area Guide

With no tube station and out the way of the hustle and bustle of North London, Stoke Newington could arguably be one of the nicest areas north of the City. In this peaceful part of the capital there are great bars, a band of indie shops and large Jewish and Turkish communities that contribute to a lot of its cuisine and culture. What you’ll find in Stoke Newington is a neighbourhood favouring independent shops and small, highly-rated state primary schools, much-loved Clissold Park, and in the grounds of St Paul’s Church in Stoke Newington High Street, the only solely organic farmers’ market in the country.

Schools
Stoke Newington’s state primary schools are predominately Jewish ones serving Stamford Hill’s Orthodox Jewish community, and also many local private Jewish schools.
